i feel compelled to share this recipe with you because our whole family has gone nutso for it, requesting it 3 times in 2 weeks. credit where credit is due, i found the recipe via chrissy teigen’s blog sodelushious. if you are unfamiliar with chrissy teigen, she’s a model who is engaged to john legend. she is also unfairly good looking and despite having an obvious obsession with food, maintains a swimsuit illustrated body. usually i would hate on such a creature but chrissy has the killer humour to pull it all off - i have often chuckled quietly to myself whilst reading her blog which is my version of rolling on the floor laughing, because honestly, who actually does that?
anyhooo - she links back to the original recipe which is found on bread & ginger which is also written by a rather witty woman.
after sticking to the original recipe the first time, i made a few tweaks which really improved the flavour, and because i like a bit more sweetness - i added 2 tsp of honey and a decent squeeze of lime. i also chopped up some kale and chucked it into the pasta water just before it had finished cooking. just to try and add some vague sense of nutrition i guess.
also - make sure you buy the tahini pictured, it’s found in the israeli section of woolies. i tried with my other macro tahini and it was too pastey. this one’s nice and runny and tastes better.
